The Works Skatepark is open 7 days a week, not only to the public, but to schools and youth groups giving people the chance to use the skatepark for alternative PE lessons. We work closely with the NHS, CCG’s, Leeds City Council and more to evidence and report on the positive impact of our sports on young peoples wellbeing. Its great to see how the sports can increase in self-esteem, motivation, participation, confidence and coordination along with making friends and most of all…. having fun.
Our PE programmes are available in the following formats and more
- Key Stage 2&3
- Key Stage 1&2
- SILC Sessions
- Alternate Provision
A range of sessions are available to groups of all ages and abilities including:
- One off sessions (often used as tasters or rewards)
- 6 week block bookings
- Year long programmes
Many school groups like to take advantage of the AQA qualifications that are available in two levels of skateboarding and BMXing. Certificates are provided to all participants.
The Works On Tour
Our Coaches will also come to your school or venue to deliver sessions including our popular ‘Fun Cycling’ sessions and other sports. These are done over 6 sessions and tailored around the schools needs. The Works will provide all equipment, paperwork and monitoring.
On a weekly basis The Works also attend events in parks and community spaces to provide sessions on our portable bike skills track. The track and staff are available to hire for events such as exhibitions, fairs and festivals.
The Works are always looking for new partners and want to work with other people to have an even greater impact on the City. If you feel that your aims are similar to The Works, and you really want to build the community then you need to get in touch.
